Carolann Solebello
For many years, Carolann anchored the group Red Molly with her alto harmonies. Going solo is in no way a lesser effort, with her versatility as a solo artist showcasing her songwriting talents and allowing her crisp, lush vocals to come out of the shadow of Red Molly. Performing what she describes as a "New York-inflected brand of original and traditional Americana", you'll hear the sounds of mountain music coming through loud and clear. Tickets are $12 (plus $2 service charge) until the date of the performance, and $15 at the door. For more information:

On The Rise: Tigeriss & special guests
The Oneonta Theatre and Dundee are proud to present ON THE RISE, a new series of FREE concerts featuring the best in regional and local up-and-coming talent. ON THE RISE will be an ongoing series of concerts. If you're on the rise and want to get your band noticed, email bands@oneontatheatre.com.
Since forming in 2007, New Paltz NY's Tigeriss have become an exemplary band to hold up for those seeking fun sing-a-long rock & roll that still matters. Born from a true DIY aesthetic, Tigeriss has self-promoted their way into many hearts over the course of seven national tours.
With music that is not only playful but meaningful, the Tigeriss experience promises a complex, catchy and chaotic reprieve for the everyman.
Sexy without the sleaze, but still nastier than mama permits, Lara's bluesy belting and rolling bass lines merge with Danny's angular and memorable guitar riffs. Completing this trio is Rev. Kev's powerful and always danceable drum beats. Combined, this power trio brings you raw rock & roll.. the way it should be. Having self-released two EPs in 2008 and 2009, the band has now released its first full-length album, "Everybody Wins!"
Admission is FREE!! How could you possibly pass this up?!
Happy hour: 6pm - 8pm - Doors open at 8pm - Show starts at 9pm.

17th Annual Honest Brook Music Festival Winter Series
Georgia native Gabriela Diaz (violist) began her musical training at the age of five, studying piano with her mother, and the next year, violin with her father. Finnish pianist Paavali Jumppanen's New York debut in 2001 at the 92nd Street Y, presented by Young Concert Artists, garnered reviews of "fresh and exciting" playing and "immense power and an extraordinary range of colors."
The Honest Brook Music Festival will present its 17th Winter Series in January, February and March. These concerts take place in private homes re-creating the setting in which much of the classical repertoire was originally performed. The audience enjoys the intimacy of the performance space, and each concert is followed by a champagne and dessert reception where one can interact with the musicians. Because seating is limited, tickets must be purchased in advance. Locations and directions will be announced to all season subscription holders and ticket holders prior to each concert. "The Shape of Water"
Hartwick College presents a screening of "The Shape of Water" (2006, 70 minutes), a feature documentary that tells the stories of powerful, imaginative and visionary women confronting the destructive development of the Third World with new cultures and a passion for change.
The film takes us to Senegal, Israel/Palestine, Brazil, and India, where these new cultures, alongside old traditions, end female genital cutting (FGC), offer innovative forms of opposition to the Israeli occupation of Palestine, and show how women are spearheading the implementation of renewable resources and rainforest preservation by tapping trees to obtain rubber. "The Shape of Water" also takes us to a vast co-operative of rural women in India (SEWA) and, in the foothills of the Himalayas, to a farm, Navdanya, set up to preserve biodiversity and women's role as seed keepers. "The Shape of Water" offers fresh and nuanced insights into the lives of women in the Third World. It traces the vital efforts of women who are pioneering social justice and celebrates their success while probing the tensions in their lives.
This event is FREE, and the public is invited to attend.

FREE Cabin Fever Film Series '12
This week, Big Fish (PG-13, 2003) - Running time: 125 minutes
Overview: Edward Bloom has always been a teller of tall tales, especially about his own life. He has created a past for himself that has taken him from a small Alabama town on journeys around the world. His stories found him encountering giants, blizzards, witches and he even had a run-in with conjoined-twin lounge singers. Now that he is dying, his estranged son Will just wants to get a glimpse of what his father is really like.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and films start at 7 p.m. Patrons should use the main entrances at both locations. Refreshments will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting area organizations. For the fifth year, Augur's Books is sponsoring a book raffle at each film. Winners will receive a copy of a book related to the film being presented. Augur's Books is located at the corner of Pioneer and Main streets in Cooperstown. Please note film ratings vary. Captions are available for most films for the hearing impaired; audience members may request captions upon admission. Known for combining raw guitar power with industrial blasts of synthesizers and drum machines, Jimkata is an example of the modern lengths that a quartet can reach without leaving their rock roots. Described as "one of the best up and coming bands" by jambase.com. Members Evan Friedell (guitar/vocals), Aaron Gorsch (guitar/synth), Dave Rossi (bass) and Packy Lunn (drums) have forged a truly unique and appealing sound through high quality, in depth studio albums and their notoriously explosive live rock shows.

Cordis Quartet with Lehrer Dance
For over a decade the contemporary quartet Cordis has been redefining contemporary chamber music by fusing an original combination of custom-made and traditional ethnic instruments to create their signature sound. Although the ensemble is built upon cello (Jeremy Harman), concert cimbalom (Richard Grimes), piano (Oscar Rodriguez), and percussion (Andrew Beall) - one-of-a-kind creations such as the electric mbira (an African thumb piano), melodica, and world's longest playing cylinder-driven music box also have a way of weaving their way into any given performance. Time Out New York said, (Cordis) makes a strong case for both sides of its musical personality - expanding the boundaries of chamber music. NewMusicBox.com concurred, "Cordis offers an intriguing mix of instrumentation, and Grimes uses them well to show of his unique perspective on 21st century chamber music." They are currently touring with a small ensemble of dancers from Buffalo, fusing these two art forms. For ticket information and details:

SIRSY - a fiery, sultry, soulful, indie pop rock duo – is a musical breath of fresh air in the too often homogenized landscape of indie rock.
"The City Never Sleeps is a refreshingly hard to categorize rock outfit from Albany, NY unsigned, relatively new on the music scene, but undeniably catchy."
