The Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home is proud to be Oneonta’s only independently family owned funeral home. Built in 1894 as the Oneonta’s Men Club, our funeral home has a grand old world charm. Our funeral records date back to the 1800’s, from our predecessors, James Hurley, The Lewis, and The McCrum Families.

We have no corporate head quarters dictating to us how we are supposed to serve your family. Decisions made are based on your family's wishes.

We are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors.

We are a full service funeral home, whether traditional services, cremation or a combination of both; we help guide you through a difficult time, coordinating your plans and wishes.

Arrangements for pre arrangements or at the time of a death can made at your home or ours. Customizing a service is what we do best. We offer video and slideshow on two monitors. Our larger monitor provides merchandise selections without having to go into a casket show room. We embrace creativity and offer many personalized memorial keepsakes. We are service oriented, with no pressure in selecting funeral merchandise.

Our family’s service goes beyond Oneonta, with two additional locations, the Heller Funeral Home in Schenevus and E.J. Skinner Co. in Worcester.

Frank Heller bought the Schenevus funeral home in 1967. John & Kathleen (Heller) Pietrobono have been involved with the Schenevus and Worcester funeral homes since 1995, and bought the Oneonta firm in 2003. Terry Knapp joined our family business in 2004.

Our family is committed to providing the families in our communities with a highly personal as well as professional level of service, and still maintaining affordability.
